WHO WE ARE

AN AREA STEEPED IN HISTORY

The idea of celebrating this event arose in 1953 during the ceremonies of its 500th anniversary, but the circumstances at the time were not conducive to to celebrate this French victory.

The idea will live long in the memory, and after a period of more than 20 years, the first show was staged in 1974.

The show took off in 1977 on the banks of the Dordogne at a place called "La Plage". known as "la Plage". The popular success exceeded the organisers' expectations, the show adapted and was then performed in front of the church of Saint-Symphorien, at the the Blanzac equestrian centre and, for over 30 years, at the foot of the Château de Castegens in Belvès-de-Castillon.

The incredible energy of the volunteers, groups of friends, families families, shopkeepers and their commitment, coordinated by the Comité des Fêtes makes the show grow year after year.
