Founded in 8th century by Émilion, the city was an
important centre of religious life... Sheltered behind
powerful ramparts during the One hundred Year War, it
prospered due to its' wines.

underground system of caves and cellars , furthermore its
monuments and its remains of the Romanesque aera were
more than enough to list St Emilion as a UNESCO world
